學(xué)校概況
Latymer
Upper School 拉提默中學(xué)（拉提默學(xué)校）于1624年根據(jù)Edward
Latymer 的遺愿創(chuàng)辦，位于國王街及泰晤士河交界，在倫敦西的哈默史密斯。我校與小學(xué)部共用一個校區(qū)，沿著泰晤士河流域，可以一覽哈默史密斯河段的美景。操場范圍約1.5英里。我校設(shè)備完善，包括有300個座位的拉提莫藝術(shù)中心，音樂中心及藝術(shù)中心。學(xué)生來自倫敦不同的地區(qū)和社區(qū)。1996年，我校的A-Level階段開始招收女生。此后，我校逐漸轉(zhuǎn)為一所完全的合校，從2004年開始，我校也招收7年級階段的女生。我校更注重學(xué)生的學(xué)術(shù)成績。我校教學(xué)嚴(yán)謹(jǐn)，學(xué)生成績優(yōu)異。音樂是我校傳統(tǒng)優(yōu)勢學(xué)科之一，我校鼓勵學(xué)生參加音樂劇表演，多達(dá)300名學(xué)生學(xué)習(xí)樂器，175名學(xué)生參加管弦樂團(tuán)，150名學(xué)生參加合唱團(tuán)等。我校的體育運(yùn)動出色（多名學(xué)生是郡代表及地區(qū)代表），我校更開設(shè)多項(xiàng)課外活動。戲劇也是我校傳統(tǒng)優(yōu)勢學(xué)科之一，我校每年上演多部作品。此外，我校更組織探險之旅，體育之旅，野外課程等，包括到巴黎，柏林，馬德里，斯德哥爾摩的實(shí)習(xí)。我校學(xué)生每年參加Duke
of Edinburgh’s
Award。我校也注重培養(yǎng)學(xué)生參與不同活動及個人價值觀的培養(yǎng)。
學(xué)生與入學(xué)
學(xué)生:
年齡：11-18歲；970名學(xué)生，830名男生，140名女生（女生數(shù)量每年都在遞增，我校暫時只招收7年級和A-Level階段的女生）。
入學(xué):
主要入學(xué)年齡：11，13和16歲。需要通過我校的筆試（本校試卷）和面試；A-Level階段：面試和錄取通知書（A-Level所選學(xué)科需要達(dá)到A）。我校歡迎學(xué)術(shù)成績優(yōu)秀學(xué)生報讀，我校對學(xué)生的宗教信仰沒有任何要求。來自公立學(xué)校的學(xué)生，在11歲階段，占60%，13歲及A-Level階段比例更少。40%的學(xué)生來自本校的小學(xué)部。
獎學(xué)金
獎學(xué)金價值學(xué)費(fèi)的50%；大部分是學(xué)術(shù)類獎學(xué)金，也有少量音樂類，藝術(shù)類，戲劇類及體育類獎學(xué)金。不要求家長購買書本。
家長
20%以上的家長是醫(yī)生和律師，
20%以上的家長從事戲劇，媒體，音樂等行業(yè)。

從2002年開始任職。畢業(yè)于牛津大學(xué)（法語）。曾任愛德華國王中學(xué)（巴斯）的校長。

28音樂教職員。老師平均年齡是42歲。
考試成績
GCSE:
129名11年級學(xué)生參加GCSE統(tǒng)考，99%獲得8門以上的C。平均分是66分。
A-levels:
164名13年級學(xué)生參加A-Level統(tǒng)考，26名學(xué)生通過4門學(xué)科，137名通過3門學(xué)科，平均分是374分。
學(xué)生升學(xué)
幾乎所有學(xué)生升讀大學(xué)（25%的學(xué)生在一年后繼續(xù)升讀大學(xué)），14%的學(xué)生升讀牛劍。10%的學(xué)生學(xué)習(xí)醫(yī)學(xué)，牙醫(yī)，獸醫(yī)，15%的學(xué)生學(xué)習(xí)科學(xué)和工程學(xué)，5%的學(xué)生學(xué)習(xí)法律，60%的學(xué)生學(xué)習(xí)人文學(xué)科和社會科學(xué)，10%的學(xué)生學(xué)習(xí)藝術(shù)與設(shè)計。
課程
我校開設(shè)GCSE和A-level, 21門GCSE學(xué)科, 35門
A-level學(xué)科。
A-Level:
大部分學(xué)生在第一年學(xué)習(xí)4門學(xué)科，第二年學(xué)習(xí)3門學(xué)科，48%的學(xué)生學(xué)科科學(xué)，52%的學(xué)生學(xué)習(xí)人文學(xué)科，學(xué)生還可以選修計算機(jī)。
職業(yè):
學(xué)生可在英國及歐洲參加實(shí)習(xí)。
外語:
GCSE和A-level均開設(shè)法語，德語，西班牙語和意大利語。A-Level學(xué)生更可選修俄語，GCSE必修法語或德語或西班牙語。我校定期組織學(xué)生到法國，德國，意大利和西班牙進(jìn)行交換生學(xué)習(xí)。
計算機(jī):
作為獨(dú)立學(xué)科和跨學(xué)科教學(xué)（7-9年級，每周一次課），獨(dú)立學(xué)科：我校內(nèi)刊設(shè)計等。我校開放150臺計算機(jī)供學(xué)生使用（每天9小時），所有計算機(jī)聯(lián)網(wǎng)，均可收發(fā)郵件。
藝術(shù)
音樂:
超過40%的學(xué)生學(xué)習(xí)一門樂器；學(xué)生可參加樂器等級考試。超過20個音樂社團(tuán)，包括管弦樂，樂隊(duì)和合唱團(tuán)等供學(xué)生選擇。
戲劇: 我校每年上演5部戲劇。通常有45A-Level名學(xué)生選修戲劇。
藝術(shù)與設(shè)計:
平均45名GCSE學(xué)生,
50名A-level學(xué)生選修。我校開設(shè)設(shè)計，陶瓷，雕刻，攝影和美術(shù)史。每年有學(xué)生考上倫敦的藝術(shù)院校。
體育及活動
體育:
選修：橄欖球，板球，劃船，田徑，足球，網(wǎng)球，越野運(yùn)動，擊劍，空手道，潛水，乒乓球，壁球，羽毛球，游泳等。我校有15–20名學(xué)生是橄欖球及其他體育運(yùn)動的郡代表。
活動:
學(xué)生每年獲得Duke of
Edinburgh’s
Award金銀銅獎。我校開設(shè)年度活動周（700名學(xué)生參加38個不同的旅程或課程）。我校更開設(shè)慈善活動，與本地小學(xué)，公立學(xué)校的周六學(xué)校。超過40個社團(tuán)供學(xué)生選擇：棋藝，辯論，戲劇，文學(xué)，哲學(xué)，攝影等。
校園生活
校服: 除A-Level學(xué)生外，其他學(xué)生在校期間需要穿校服。
宿舍:
我校沒有宿舍，由高年級學(xué)生選擇學(xué)生代表，A-Level學(xué)生有自己的委員會。
宗教: 不要求學(xué)生參加禮拜。
社交:
與附近的學(xué)校開展管弦樂及其他交流活動。組織國外旅游：滑雪之旅，語言交換生，新西蘭，南非等國的體育之旅，秘魯，尼泊爾的探險之旅。允許學(xué)生騎車到學(xué)校，我校提供自助餐飲。我校有商店及小賣部。禁止學(xué)生抽煙喝酒。
