簡介  

魯頓大學 The University of Luton 于1993年經(jīng)由英國樞密院批準成立。擁有14000名學生，分為四大學院：人文學院、衛(wèi)生保健與社會研究學院、科技學院及商學院。本校設(shè)有英國最齊全的模塊式學位課程，學生能夠針對個人需要的科目進行無窮的課程組合。目前Luton大學的海外學生正在攻讀各種程度的課程，從語言課程、學士課程、碩士課程到博士課程，一應(yīng)俱全。人文學院新增設(shè)的中國中心，已成為與華人世界來往的新焦點。

學術(shù)優(yōu)勢

魯頓大學設(shè)有「Business」、「Create Art & Technology」、「Health & Social Science」三學院, 同學除了選擇單一學系為主修外, 也可以依據(jù)自己的意愿選擇跨學科修習或雙學位主修. 此一學習機制, 充分顯現(xiàn)魯頓大學注重人力資源市場的多變性. 期使同學在投入就業(yè)市場之前, 即能培育強而有力的競爭力。

根據(jù)2001年5月英國教育機構(gòu)調(diào)查, 魯頓大學在所有英國大學的畢業(yè)就業(yè)率中, 是位居榜首的, 學生就業(yè)率幾乎達100%, 魯頓大學成功的教學經(jīng)驗引起世界各地高度的關(guān)注, 魯頓大學擁有潛力和實際能力, 而學校更賦予他們就業(yè)技能, 使他們對社會和新知識有很強的適應(yīng)性和轉(zhuǎn)換能力, 學校的教學方式是 ”廣” 而非 ”精” . 魯頓大學中的”學習資源中心”結(jié)合了圖書館、自習室與計算機中心的功能, 學生可以在該中心有效地獲得豐富的研究資源.

Luton大學的教學取向前衛(wèi)，所有的課程均含括現(xiàn)實工作環(huán)境所需的技能；許多學生畢業(yè)后，在英國本地的大型跨國公司謀得一職，更有許多課程擁有自動豁免有關(guān)領(lǐng)域的專業(yè)資格鑒定。Luton大學的語言中心也逐漸地拓展名聲，全年開課的高質(zhì)量英文班，提供非英語系國家學生的英語學習輔助，幫助學生如期順利完成學業(yè)，取得學位。

設(shè)備 ：

圖書館：　藏書20萬冊，1800余種期刊，950個座位，以及電化教學設(shè)施。圖書館年資料經(jīng)費支出為平均每位全日制學生71英鎊。

計算機資源：有800多臺計算機可供學生使用。

通訊資源：校內(nèi)有電視臺、錄象和廣播電臺。

體育設(shè)施：體育館，武術(shù)館，體重訓練，活動場地。

當?shù)伢w育設(shè)施：奧運會游泳館。

住宿與福利：

學校宿舍可容納1600個學生，大約每周50英鎊；另外在學校負責管理的其他住房可提供400個學生的住宿，費用約每周45英鎊。如果租住本地民房，大約每周45英鎊。

生活設(shè)施：書店，閉路電視，和劇院。

學校保證所有海外學生都享有大學宿舍住宿一年的資格。校園內(nèi)有數(shù)個餐廳，宿舍備有自炊設(shè)備，提供學生膳食方面的便利，宿舍多為公寓式，學生擁有個人的房間，廚房及衛(wèi)浴設(shè)施則共享；宿舍均為新建筑，距離校區(qū)很近，徒步便可到達。若學生想在市中心租房子居住，學校的住宿管理處也可以提供學校管理的房屋，比起倫敦或其它城市的租金便宜許多。Luton大學對于海外學生，提供全面性的關(guān)懷及福利服務(wù)，并且與其它地方的大學合作推展假期活動。

位置 ：

魯頓大學位于倫敦北方30英哩, 介于牛津與劍橋兩所大學之間, 從倫敦前往約30分鐘車程可達，公路、鐵路及航空運輸都十分暢通，學校附近有便利的購物中心、地區(qū)體育中心，是聚集娛樂與文化設(shè)施于一身的動感城市。
